School Parties

In Kinder they have a Reindeer Romp - loads of activities...

I let the kids wear "Who-hair" to school today.

In 2nd grade they build their own gingerbread houses.

JC and some buddies. The boy on her right let me know he is marrying JC. I told him we don't decide who we are marrying in Kinder and he told me, oh, I won't marry her until I am an adult. haha Sadly he just switched schools, but my JC misses him! The boy on the far right is our enighbor and other big buddy. And funny enough the boy on her left I taught when he was in my 2 year old class.

More friends.

Watch Out Martha Stewart!

Our friend A had a very sweet Mad Hatter Tea Party birthday! I mean seriously mom (Miss S) went ALL out! Truly wonderfully whimsical!

Cute Alice! Notice the Mad Hatter Dad, who is also hubby's boss.

This family are our great buddies since just about when we got to Austin and these two have become great pals since they attended the same school this year. Different age groups but get along great! Love it!

So Cool!

Our friend M's birthday party. Hubby took his motorcycle over since the cake was motorcycle themed. Always need a photo op right? In other news regarding this pal, he shares a birthday with JE!

Winter Play Time

Posted by Picasa

Hitting some sort of "lowest temperatures of the decade" prediction so we had friends over to play. We made cookies and tried to break our toys free from an ice tub we made. I made these for school but they didn't all break free at school.

Annie in Georgetown

Annie was playing at the community theatre in Georgetown. Pretty cute for an amateur production. We enjoyed it! The girls acted like they were "working orphans" afterwards anytime I asked them to do a chore! I told them the orphans on Annie don't get to make chocolate chip cookies after their chores!!

Is it just me or does JM look like a cross between Rainbow Brite and Michael Jackson? She needed black shoes and she picked these, which I was glad to buy as they were the clearance ones! :-) And the rest of the outfit is our attempt at making a spring dress into a fall one. Not sure we pulled it off, but I do think JM pulls off somehow making it cute anyway! ha

We took our friend L, who is someone I always enjoy going to the theatre with and I knew the girls would too! :-) JC always plays shy at first, but JM is her instant buddy of course. Our visits seem to be less frequent and the girls are getting to that age where they forget people after a while, so they know L's name of course and we talk about her, but poor things (especially JC) are starting to forget her too fast if we don't see her!! L was the first person I think to keep the girls overnight without us and took part in their Baptism! Important person! :-)

Pet Store Field Trip

We are trying to maintain some playgroup fun. A lot of our group is in MDO or big kid school these days, so things have slowed down, but I am glad we are keeping them connected though some fun outings. This time it was at the Petco for a field trip after school.

Reflections of a beautiful girl. It was yellow day at school today. :-)

Petting the bunny.

Petting the baby..oh wait she didn't belong to the store. Oh how my JM LOVES babies. And the momma is a sweetie who always lets kids hold the baby! JM, you will one day be a fabulous Mommy!!! I've just always known it about you!

Petting the turtle.

And what are we all laughing at hysterically? Umm the turtle pooped on the floor! Oh yeah, that will be remembered more than anything else that happened this day!

Happy 20th Anniversary!

How could I be having a 20th anniversary of ANYTHING??? But this is the wish I got this morning! K says its time. 20 years. K, S, and C and I became friends in the 6th grade. 1989 she says. Obviously I am not keeping up very well. I take her word for it. And I thank God all the time they were my friends then, through school and still today are my email buddies who I love having a girls weekend with! As K notes some of us have known each other longer but this is the date we use as a whole. :-) I find it shocking I can keep up with someone that long. I don't keep up with too many people from high school or college. And I know when I am 80, these are the girls I'll be begging to go on a cruise with me!

Big Enough

We invited some of our friends to the pool to celebrate JC's 4th birthday with us! Simple affair. We are celebrating the girls birthdays with breakfast with the princesses this year so there will be no fancy parties. What's funny is this is all I have told my children so far and it appeased them as to why we weren't planning a big bash and why I didn't give a present. I have other plans. And sometime you just have to wait on the good stuff!

There she is- the sweetie pie. Thankfully loving an all vanilla with sprinkles cupcake I made. She has decided when you are 4 you are big enough for lots of things. How that is possible I don't know. She weighs the exact same as what she did at three. Although I know she is taller. Our well-check is in a couple of weeks after the back-to-school rush.

I love you Sweet Baby! Your hand in mine is the biggest thrill of my day!

Water Friends

One of my good friends from middle school and beyond lives in the Longview area and has a little girl, "E" JM's age. These 2 see each other maybe once a year. Sometimes more or less. Amazing when you are 5 you can be instant friends and have a blast though. I hope we can manage to keep up a friendship with them - pen pals or something. It will make it easier for us to hang out! My friend introduced us to this splash park in the area that we had never heard of! What a great find! JC is there too, but was sort of water shy. E has a new baby brother and a cousin with us too, but the big girls were the most fun for me to photograph.

Play Doh Play

We had a play date today where we just got out our mega play doh set to use with our friends. JM made this starfish, but this is the star fish after she destroyed it and re-made it quickly for a picture. :-) She and her friend J also made a tower. They played for so long in the playroom together working on "stuff." Thank goodness. Some days the play room gets little use so its nice when friends come over to show them how to use those toys!! :-)

The blue plate is dinner I made last week. All JCs favorites - kiwi, cucumber, tomato, and veggie rice. In fact when JM saw it she said "Yuck!" Who ate NONE of it - JC! Who ate ALL of it - JM! It makes no sense! Yes, I am aware this a boring dinner and no that's not what I had! :-)

Now the green bowl is a fruit bowl my mom gave me. It has a little colander insert so you can put freshly washed fruit in the bowl and it won't be sitting in water drips. JM loves this bowl and is always taking it out of my cabinet. Today we had to run an errand to pick up some furniture from someone and she whipped up her own snack bowl. Inside is Veggie Booty, juice pouch, and pudding with spoon! She had it all thought out! Of course I let her take it on our little trip!
